Juneau is fortunate to have a clean public water system that is available to most residents. Give up the bottle and go for the glass. Take our great H2O with you in a safe drinking container.

Hello, I am with Turning The Tides (www.turningthetides.org) in Juneau. We are working to decrease use of disposable plastics, like bags and bottles. I was wondering if you have a link to the references for the information in the Bottled Water Facts. I'd like to post it on our website, but would like to make sure the numbers quoted are correct.
Also, we will be building a whale out of plastic bottles during the Folk Fest to raise awareness about disposable plastics. Let me know if you would like to participate in the event. You can read more info about it on our website.
The information came from a journal called School Planning & Management, January 2009 issue, page 46. The first bullet of the "Bottled Water Facts" refers to the Pacific Instiute.
